Ribbon Tabs Challenge...

Image
Hello, A long time ago I picked up these puffy sticker embellishments from Michaels (in shapes of clouds, kites, rainbows and etc.). I decided to pull them out of the package and make a couple of cards with them. They are pretty simple. I dug through my stash of stamps until I could find a few sentiments that worked with them. I wanted to enter these into the latest Create: Challenge . The theme this week is ribbon tabs. I added a few to each card. On a side note, thank you so much for the nice comments about my card and photo of roses yesterday. How was your Valentine's? Any interesting stories to tell? Thanks for stopping by, Brandi

Happy Valentine's Day...

Image
Hello and Happy Valentine's Day to all of my crafty friends. I couldn't let this holiday pass without sharing one more Valentine's card. The inspiration for this card is from the latest Paper Smooches Sparks  Challenge photo. I pulled most of my inspiration from the color combo and love theme. I did very little stamping and mostly paper piecing on this one. Can I just take one minute of your time to gush like a little school girl. I received these beautiful flowers this morning, at the office, from my hubby. I was grinning from ear to ear. Whether your sharing this day with your significant other, a single girl's night out or a nice solo night in with a romantic comedy and pint of ice cream; I wish you a wonderful Valentine's Day! LOL! Hugs, Brandi

Happy Halloween!

J-E-T-S! Jets! Jets! Jets!

Image
Hey y'all, I wanted to pop in quickly to share some pics of this past weekend. The hubby and I are huge NY Jets football fans, as well as his parents. We all took a trip down to New Jersey on Sunday to tailgate and watch them beat the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was such a fun game to watch because it was a blowout, as compared to many games in the past. The hubby and I have a few connections regarding the team we were playing against. The kicker and quarterback for the Jaguars both played football at the college we attended (Louisiana Tech University). We use to hang out with the kicker (Josh Scobie) at school, so it was pretty neat to see him play professionally. I wanted to share a few pics of the day. The hubby and I both love the quarterback (Mark Sanchez #6), so we wore the same jersey. A little weird, I know, but it is what it is! LOL! The second photo was taken from our seats. We had a great view! Thanks for stopping by for a visit and seeing what I love outsid...

Love is ...

Image
Love is patient, Love is kind...... Those are just some of the words I remember six years ago today when I married my husband. It is hard to believe that much time has passed. It is true that time flies when you have fun and that is what the last six years have been, full of fun times and everlasting memories. I rarely post anything that doesn't involve something crafty but I thought I would share a little bit about something more important to me. I wanted to share a few pics of that special day. Since the hubby is from New York and I from Arkansas, we got married in the south. It was so nice that his family and friends were willing to fly all the way for our special day. We got married at the historical Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs, Arkansas. I feel in love with it as a child, vacationing there with my family. It was a perfect day!         Thanks for letting me share a little bit with you today! Hugs, Brandi

Tag your it...

Hey girls, I have something fun to share with you today. My friend  Ann  at Creative Antics tagged me to do the list of fours. It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers a little better. So here is my list: 1. Four shows that you watch: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills CSI: Las Vegas (the original) How I Met Your Mother Big Bang Theory 2. Four things you are passionate about: Family Paper Crafting Disney World Golfing 3. Four words/phrases you say a lot: Whiggy, Whiggy, Whack Wicked Heeeeeeeeeeey! (with a southern drawl) Just kidding, not really! 4. Four things you've learned from the past: Whatever your problem, someone always has one bigger. If you don't believe me, watch an episode of COPS. Everyone has a secret their hiding, I mean everyone and sometimes their hilarious! When things go wrong in life and are out of your control, don't get upset, stay positive and just focus on what can make the situation better. Don't judge a person...

Refreshed and Relaxed...

Hey girls, I am back from my vacation to Disney World with the hubby and we had a wonderful time. We spent a week hanging at the water parks, eating wonderful food (lobster and filet at "The Grand Floridian") was our favorite, and getting massages! We do not have children yet, so we decided to take a late summer vacation when most children in the US are back at school. That way the lines at the parks were not as long. I have a picture that I wanted to share with you girls. I know that a few of you that read my blog are food artist, so I had to attach this photo of a chocolate mousse the hubby and I ordered while we were dining at a Canadian restaurant in Epcot! I thought it was so cute! Thanks for stopping by and I will be back later this week with some cards! Brandi

A little about me...

Hey girls, Recently I have noticed a trend in a few blogs that I follow. Many bloggers have made lists to share a little bit about themselves. I love reading the lists because it makes me feel like I get to know some of my blogger friends a little better. I wanted to do the same thing in hopes that some of you will find some things in common with me. Here are ten facts about me: 1. I am learning how to cook at the moment, and by cook I mean the basics (rice, pasta, boiled potatoes, etc). I once caught the kitchen on fire cooking mac-n-cheese on the stove. Yikes! 2. I have a slight obsession with Disney World. The hubby and I go once a year. I even have a toaster that sings M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E when the toast pops out. 3. I feel that the food service industry is against me. I am a creature of habit, so when I am at a restaurant I always order the same thing (everytime). The problem is that my favorite foods are always discontinued on the menu. For example: Lemon Pepper Sh...

Happy Holidays...

Hey y'all, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I know I sure did! My mom came up from Arkansas to visit the hubby and I for a few days in New York and boy was she in for a surprise with the weather. She experienced the snow in all its unpredictable glory! It wasn't to bad, we were able to get out and do some things that I had planned for us. The hubby had to work most of the time (you know those mail carriers, come hail, sleet or snow the mail must be delivered) so my mom and I had a girls day out. We had massages at Kimberley's a Day Spa (How beautiful is this place?) So cozy! If you get there early you can relax by the fire place and drink a nice cold glass of cucumber water to relax...... Afterwards we went for a nice little lunch at Panera's. Love their baked potato soup and panini's (YUM!), then we headed out to see "Wicked"! This was my second favorite Broadway showing (other than "Rent", of course). Christmas Day we woke up to a beau...

Walt Disney World Part 3...

Image
Alright you guys these are the last of my pics. Matt and I were able to go to Hollywood Studios one day. This park has my all time favorite ride "The Tower of Terror"! It is such a cool experience. The ride begins by waiting in line in an old historical haunted hotel. While in the lobby you watch a clip from the "Twilight Zone", in which a family takes an elevator ride up to their room. While they are in the elevator, lightning hits and they plunge to the bottom. Now it's your turn to enter the old broken down elevator. You are on your way up and then the bottom falls out and you free fall. (Awesome!) This is a picture taken at the entrance of Hollywood Studios on Main Street. My husband and I stayed at this resort called "Port Orleans French Quarter". It is suppose to resemble New Orleans. We absolutely loved it. We planned a couple of cool things to do while we were in Disney besides the theme/water parks. We decided to join a group of people on a S...

Walt Disney World Part 2...

Image
One day we went to Epcot (in the rain)! We still had a wonderful time even though there was a cloudy sky. During the month of May at Epcot there is a festival of flowers. All around the park there are characters made out of flowers (Cinderella, Snow White and many more). The first picture below is of me standing in front of the entrance with Cinderella and her prince behind me. The following two pics are of the flowered characters. Love the ostriches! Last but not least is a photo of my husband and I eating at one of our favorite restaurants in Epcot, Nine Dragons! It is authentic Chinese food. In Epcot there is an area that is dedicated to different areas of the World, called World Showcase. We love to walk around and view all of the different cultures. Whether you are in the area dedicated to Norway, France, Japan or etc., the individuals working at those places are from those countries.

Disney World Part 1...

My husband and I took a vacation to Disney World. It is definitely the "Happiest Place on Earth!" We try to go once a year, when we can. There is so much to do for not only children but adults and we take full advantage of it all. We took so many pictures (about 400). I know I can not show them all, so I picked out a few of my favorites. I will share them with you over the next couple of days, since their are so many. One day we went to Animal Kingdom. We absolutely love this park because it has my husband's favorite ride "Expedition Everest". The ride takes you through a snow capped mountain in search for a "Yeti" also known as a hairy, scary beast! Our first experience on the ride was tricky. We ended up getting stuck at the top of the mountain and had to walk down 14 flights of stairs through the mountain. Pretty cool though, because we got to see behind the scenes. Although we were not allowed to take pictures at that point, I was able to get a pho...

Christmas in April?

Image
Hey all! I have had this christmas paper in my stash for a while now and wanted to do something with it. I found this paper with vintage Christmas ornaments on it at a local craft store a while back and thought one day (more likely in December) I could make some cute Christmas cards with it. Well Christmas came early a couple of days ago because I was inspired to create the cards. When I sit down to make a card whether it is summer or winter, I do not stick with the nearest holiday. I design for the holiday "I" am feeling at that point! On a side note, tomorrow I am heading into the city to see the NY Mets take on the Brewers. This will be my first time in the new 600 million dollar Mets Stadium. From what I have seen and heard the stadium is top notch, from restuarants to entertainment. They even have a sushi bar. What? At a ballpark? I hope the hot dogs are great because sushi and I don't mix! "If it ain't cooked, it ain't for me"! HE HE! Below I have ...

Studio Pics...

I was tagged by my friend Mandy ( http://messagesfrommandy.blogspot.com/ ). I am supposed to find the 4th picture in my 4th folder of my photo directory and post it. This is what I found: While I was in NYC I took a trip to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum. I had a blast taking photos with all of the "Fake Wax" celebrities! The picture above is of David Wright and I. He plays for my favorite team "The Mets"! Not to mention, he is a super hottie! My husband and I have tickets to see the Mets this April at their new stadium. I can not wait! Who knows? Maybe I will catch a homerun ball by David! Below are a couple of pictures I took of my "mostly" finished craft room. I love it! Everything has it's place. I just wanted to share it with you all.

Twilight...

Image
I have been absent recently from my craft room but will be back shortly. My family came up from Arkansas for a week and we had a blast, visiting scrapbook stores galore and going to see "The Knowing". Really great movie but the ending was unexpected. While my mom was up, she helped me get my craft room up to date. I have a place for everything, baskets galore, peg board and ribbon storage. I officially have a "craft sanctuary". I will attach photos later on this week, just need to tidy up a few loose ends. On a side note I just got through watching "Twilight". I never could understand what the big deal was about the series, but man am I hooked! I am going out to Borders tomorrow to buy "Twilight" the book! Last but not least how hot is Robert Pattinson? Anyone? Brad Pitt move over!

I was tagged!!!

Image
Yeah! I was tagged by my friend Julie ( http://juliecameron.blogspot.com/ ) from Canada! That means that she has given me a fun task to do and I must forward the fun task on to others. It is a way to get to know someone better. So the rules are to go into your pics on the computer and choose the 6th folder and the 6th picture in that folder..... and this is the picture that was there.... Let me explain! My husband, dog and I are huge Oklahoma Sooner fans. Why you say, considering we did not go to college there? Well to make a long story short, we just are! This year the Oklahoma Sooners made it to the college football national championship game and played the Florida Gators. My husband, his brother and dad went to the game. Being to expensive I did not and neither did my dog! So my husband brought home a souvenir, a Florida Gator chew toy for the dog. This is a picture of "Shea" in her Oklahoma Sooner jersey with the chew toy. Too cute! If you look really hard you can see tha...

Beware of Dog...

Image
My husband is a mail carrier and he received the cutest gift for Christmas. I had to share it with all of you. It is a salt and pepper shaker. The mail carrier is the salt and the dog is the pepper. There is a magnet that connects them. How Cute! When I first saw this I laughed so hard!

Winter Wonderland...

Image
Boy Oh Boy did we get a snowstorm. This past weekend we received 18 inches of snow between Friday and Monday. I wanted a white Christmas and I think we will get one!!! I have attached photos that I took throughout the weekend along with some Christmas decorations around our house. Can you see the maze my husband snow plowed in the backyard for our dog "Shea"! She had a blast running through the paths. She is shorter than the 18" of snow so I hope she doesn't get turned around!!! Which way do I go? Which way do I go? It was early and that is my excuse!!! Our Christmas tree and other decorations. Yes, we are those people that buy our dog clothes for Christmas and what is better than receiving her first JETS jersey??? Alright maybe I will get counseling after the New Year! Merry Christmas to all!!!
