My World is Brighter

Hello friends...

I hope you all had a great weekend. It was so nice and sunny here in Upstate NY. You could not keep our family from being outside enjoying the warmth and fresh air. We went for strolls, played basketball and watched our little nieces ride in their little motorized cars. Too cute! One has a Barbie Jeep and the other a mini Escalade.

I did manage to create a few cards when the baby was sleeping. I tried my hand at watercoloring again. I just love, love, love this little map image from Neat and Tangled.

Quick question for all of you watercoloring gurus...How do you keep your cards from warping/wrinkling when using water paints? When my images dry they kind of curl my card base.

I'm entering this card into a couple of challenges. One is the Little Tangles Sequin Challenge and the other one is the latest ColourQ Challenge #287.

Until next time...
Brandi

Welcome Little One

Hello...

I have a fun card to share with you today. I am loving the watercolor trend lately and had to try my hand at it again. I bought some cute watercolor paper tags the other day and they are so easy to use and have the cutest patterns embossed on them. All I had to do was add a touch of water and some paint. I also brought out a set I have yet to use from Avery Elle (Storybrook). This set is just the cutest!

I wanted to enter this card into a couple of challenges (Avery Elle Watercolor Challenge and Virginia's View Challenge #14)

Until next time...

Make Me Laugh (Hahahaha)

Hello...

I have a fun little card I'm excited to share with you today. It's a rather funny one if I do say so myself (hahahahaha). Mama Elephant has a new flickr challenge up with the theme "Make Me Laugh". Right away I knew I wanted to use the group selfie image and create a sentiment I had floating around in my head. What do you think? Does it make you giggle?

Thank you for stopping by. If you want to play along with the challenge, here are the details.

Until next time,

CAS(E) this Sketch #117

Hello crafty friends...

I hope you have had a great Easter for those of you that celebrate. It was our little mans first Easter and we kept it pretty low key. His nana bought him the cutest stuffed bunny rabbit and he loves it. We stayed away from the candy though because he is too young and mom and dad really don't need any. Hahahaha!

I know it's Easter but I created a Christmas card for the latest CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #117. When I saw the sketch I automatically thought of hanging ornaments and that's the only reason it turned out to be a holiday card.

Crazy right?...Thank you so much for stopping by,
Brandi

Let's Keep In Touch

Hello crafty friends,

Hope you're having a fabulous day. It is so bright, warm and sunny here in Upstate NY....I can't help but have a permanent smile on my face.

I created my card today with a couple of challenges in mind, CASEing #2 Challenge and The Anything Goes Challenge. I used some more awesome Mama Elephant stamps. I am so addicted to their stamps...half of my stamps are from that company. Their designs are soooooooo stinking cute!

Thank you so much for stopping by,

Brandi

Wish You Were Here

Hello friends,

I'm popping in to share a card I made a few months ago for the Paper Crafter's Library. I couldn't show the whole card on my site so I wanted to share it today. I just love the map background paper and the suitcase image from Mama Elephant. I cut out the paper so that it shows my state of NY.

Thanks for stopping by,

Color Inspiration

Hello,

Thank you so much for stopping by. I have a fun card full of cool colors (blues, greens and yellows) and mix matched shapes to share with you today. The shapes and sentiment are from one of my favorite Papertrey Ink sets designed by Maile called Sketched Shapes. It's such a versatile set that can be used to build a fun background or add a little shape accent here and there.

I created this card for the March Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. I was inspired by the colors and patterns of the photo.

Until next time...

CAS(E) this Sketch #115

Hello...

I have another watercolored card to share with you today. I'm so in love with this technique. It's so much easier than I thought it would be. At first, seeing everyones take on watercoloring, I was a little intimidated. After I figured out that the trick to staying in the lines was clear embossing, I was sold!

I created this card for the latest CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #115.

Floral Fusion

Hello,

I'm so excited to share my card with you today. Why you may ask? Because I used a new technique that seems to be all the craze lately...water coloring. It's so much fun and whoever started the trend, in my opinion, rocks! I stamped my flower images with white craft ink and embossed them. Then I took my paint brush and just painted away. The flowers and sentiment are from Mama Elephant.

I created this card for the Floral Fusion Challenge.

Stripes Galore

Hello,

Thank you so much for stopping in today and all the wonderful comments you've left on my blog lately. I'm popping in to share a card I made for the latest Avery Elle Challenge. The theme this time is stripes. What better way to incorporate them than paper piecing, right?

I'm off to check out the rest of the DT and entries. Until next time...

You Make My Heart Sing

Hello...

Thank you so much for popping in today. I want to share with you a card I made for the latest Little Tangles Challenge. The theme this week is Anything Goes... Aren't those the best? You can just let your creativity run wild.

On a side note I would also like to enter this card into the latest CAS-ual Fridays Challenge. The theme this week is Springtime Melodies. The pastels and singing bird on this card just scream Spring, am I right?

Until next time...

CASology Tropical Challenge

Hello...

Thank you for stopping by today. I'm sharing a card I made for the latest CASology Challenge #137. The theme this week is Tropical. When I think of tropical I imagine blue skies and lots of sunshine. I wanted to incorporate that into my card this week. I used a sunshine background stamp and sentiment from Mama Elephant along with turquoise and yellow colors.

We are finally getting sunshine ourselves in Upstate New York. With the snow finally melting, I can see grass, my shingles on the roof and people out walking their dogs. It is amazing how high 40's can feel so warm after a winter like we had.

Here's to Spring being right around the corner!

Muse Challenge #108

Hello...

Thanks for stopping by. I'm sharing a card that I made for the latest Muse Challenge #108. Can you tell which part of Michele's card inspired me???

It was the pattern in the background and white floating panel to place the focal point. I created a similar patterned background with a die cut panel. I love how the white panel pops off the background and showcases the image so I tried to create the same affect when showcasing my little paper pieced girl. Off to look at the other entries.

Have a good one!

CAS(E) this Sketch #113

Hello...

Thanks for stopping by. I have a card to share with you that I made for the latest CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #113. I just love this site. The DT always provides great sketches and wonderful inspiration. This week is no different.

I was able to ink/paper piece one of my favorite new sets from Avery Elle. Isn't this elephant just the cutest? Off to check out the other entries. Have a good one!

Muse Challenge #107

I hope you had a great weekend. It was too short for me with daylight savings but I am so glad we sprang forward and it will now be lighter out at night. I know spring is just around the corner....I can't wait for warmer temps and sunny skies.

I wanted to pop in to share a card I made for the latest Muse Challenge #107. I was inspired by the layout, sequins and use of patterned paper. I wanted the sentiment to be the focal point.

Thanks for stopping by...

Little Teepee

Hello,

I'm so glad you popped in today. I'm sharing a card I made for the latest CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #111. The sketch this week inspired me to pull out my little teepee stamp from Avery Elle. Isn't it so cute? It's a great image to use for paper piecing. Paper piecing images is my go to but I recently bought some Blendabilities markers (similar to Copics) from Stampin' Up and can't wait to try my hand at coloring with markers.

Freshly Made Sketches #174

Hello friends...

I'm popping in on this Monday morning with a card I made for the latest Freshly Made Sketches #174. I just love a good sketch challenge, don't you? The first thing I thought of when I saw this sketch was my Avery Elle igloo stamp. I just had to use it. It's been sitting on my shelf collecting dust and it's too cute of a stamp to be doing that, right?

Thanks for stopping by,

Muse Challenge Part 2

Hello,

I made yet another card for the Muse Challenge 105. I couldn't get enough of the fun layout and inspiration of the village theme. Those are the items that inspired this card. I went for a city feel and used some sequins to create stars in the sky.

Thanks for stopping by,

Muse Challenge Part 1

Hello,

Hope you had a great weekend. I'm popping in today to share a card I made for the latest Muse Challenge #105. This week I was inspired by the layout and images on the card. I bought these new house dies recently and couldn't wait to use them. I cut the houses and tree out and adhered them to the pattern paper with pop up dots. I kept it pretty simple with a sentiment and one single sequin to add some pizazz!

Donut Delight

Hello,

Thanks for popping in today. I have a card to share that I made for the latest Curtain Call Challenge. The theme this week is Donut Delight. You should check out the DT's cards. Just looking at them makes me hungry. That's probably why I bought two chocolate frosted donuts from the donut shop today.

For my card I used a donut stamp from Hero Arts. It's a perfect image for paper piecing. I added a little glitter for the sprinkles. What do you think? Are you hungry just looking at it?

Until later...

Monochrome

Hello,

Thank you so much for popping in today. I have a fun little card to share with you today. I am playing in the latest CASology Challenge #134. The key word this week is monochrome. I went with a clean black and white image with a pop of pink as the focal point. I added a sentiment and sequins to tie everything together.

Have you seen the contestant gallery yet? Wow...there are some amazing entries so far.

We are bracing for more snow here in the northeast. That brings our totally currently up to 36" this year. The only thing getting me through this rough winter is mocha lattes, card making and my favorite television shows like "The Walking Dead" and "Survivor" (Which is starting up next week)! Yay! What's getting you through???

CAS(E) this Sketch #110

Hello and thanks for stopping by...
I'm popping in with a card I made for the latest CAS(E) this Sketch #110. I love the sketch designed by Leigh Penner...so many possibilities. After looking at my supplies I came up with the idea of showcasing one of my new wooden butterfly stamps as the main image. I stamped the image in black ink and then added a little turquoise color to make it pop. I'm still going strong with my use of patterned paper. I love how the black and white pattern just adds something to the card. Off to go look at the other entries!

Muse Challenge #104

Hello friends...

I'm popping in to share a card I made for the latest Muse Challenge #104. I was inspired by the layout and placement of the sentiment. I also knew I wanted to use a pattern in the background, so I pulled out some patterned paper I had laying around. I just adore polka dots!

Thanks for stopping by!

CASology...Love

Hello friends,

Thank you so much for popping in today. I'm sharing a card I made for the latest CASology Challenge love theme. It is so easy for me to make Valentine cards. I think it's because there are so many cute stamps out there for this particular holiday. The only problem is you can only give so many away, right? I have a stack of them just sitting around collecting dust.

This set is from The Sweet Stamp shop. I just love the feel of the sentiment.

Hope you guys had a great Valentines Day. The hubby and I kept it pretty low key as it is so cold outside and we have about 2 1/2 feet of snow and no where to put it.

Have a great weekend!
Brandi
