I know, I know, this set again??? Well YES because it is awesome and so fun to color. For those of you just tuning in, I'm talking about the Chance of Rain Mama Elephant stamp set. I think this one is going to get a lot of use.
For those of you living in the States we are one day closer to the 4th of July holiday. Whoo hoo! 3 day holiday for some! What are your plans???
So the last few post have been about the rain we've been having in upstate NY, so I thought what better set to play with than Mama Elephants Chance of Rain set. Each and every image in the set is just too cute. I watercolored the background first and on a separate sheet of watercolor paper colored the bear, umbrella and boy. After cutting out the little guys, I popped them on the card with some pop up squares. I thought it needed a little something extra so I added a strip of patterned paper off to the side.
Thank you so much for stopping by,
P.S. if any of you are on instagram please leave me your name in the comments. I would love to follow you and see your creations to be inspired! My instagram account is yankeebellestamper.
How was your weekend? We had lots of much needed rain so I crafted and read a lot. The book I'm reading at the moment is "The Girl On The Train" and it's so good. Have you read it?
I'm popping in with a card I made for the latest Mama Elephant June Flickr Challenge. The theme this month is clean and simple with lots of white space. I used an image from the Potted Pretties set and colored it with my Zig markers. The sentiment is from the Sunday Sentiments set. This set is so versatile. Love!!!
Hope you're enjoying the weekend. It's been raining today so I spent some time in the studio creating a few cards. I came across a new challenge site called Muse: Christmas Visions so I had to try my hand at the latest challenge #8.
I was inspired by the diagonal background. I chose to use cool colors in lieu of the warm ones shown. I also wanted to showcase the sentiment as the focal point similar to the Muse card provided.
I'm off to comment on some of the other cards and check out the talent!
Hope you've had a great week. We're halfway to the weekend. I've got lots to do as I'm preparing for my sons first birthday party next weekend. We're doing a pool party theme with beach balls and streamers. I'll be sure to share some pics later on.
I'm popping in with a card I made for the latest Simon Says Wednesday Challenge. The theme this week is Anything Goes. I'm also super excited because one of my crafty rockstar friends Gayatri made the DT!!! Whoo hoo! You go girl! She was picked out of over 400 applicants. Her work is awesome and now I get to see even more of it.
I'm popping in with a card I made for the latest AE I Heart U Challenge. The theme this month is Rainbows. When I think of rainbows, I think of sunny skies fresh from a rain shower, bright colors and happiness. I tried to incorporate the bright colors and happiness into this card by using my Zig color brush pens and AE Peonies stamp set.
The big flowers are great for coloring or paper piecing. Maybe I'll try the paper piecing technique next.
Off to see the other entries! Thanks for stopping by,
I'm popping in with a card I made for the latest Virginia's View Challenge #15. The theme this month is Ombre / Monochromatic. I used plenty of this technique on my card from coloring the pineapple image to the sentiment. It's so fun to do. I used my new Zig watercolor markers to create both effects.
The pineapple image and sentiment are from one of my new favorite sets by Avery Elle called "Stay Fresh". I just love this fun set for the summer!
Did you see my title? I love ZIG, I really do!!! The other day I bought some of the cool ZIG Clean Color Brush Pens that seem to be everywhere. I wanted to try my hand at the new techniques and gorgeous watercoloring everyone seems to be doing. Last night I dove in and created this card. Coloring with these pens is so easy and I was able to create so many wonderful colors from just a few pens. I bought only 12, but I'll be stocking my studio with more soon!
I inked up these beautiful flowers from a new set called Doodle Buds from Wplus9. The latest release was amazing!!!
Have you tried the ZIG pens yet? What are your thoughts?
It's raining buckets here in Upstate NY. I love it though because my flowers are getting the water they need to grow big and beautiful. I don't have much of a green thumb but I'm working on it. I planted a few geraniums in red and white and they are blooming like crazy.
I'm popping in with a card I made using Avery Elle's Love Note stamp set and some of my Hero Arts Ombre Ink Pads. I kept the card pretty simple as I wanted to focus on the image and sentiment.
I'm popping in with my 500th post. It seems unreal to me that I've been blogging that long. I've had a little hiatus here and there due to lack of inspiration or the birth of our child but I kept this little blog going for a few years now and see no signs of stopping. I've made so many friends over the years through this hobby and have found so much inspiration in our fun community on the web. Here's to another 500!
So today I'm sharing a card I made for the latest Simon Says Wednesday Challenge. The theme this week is "Masculine". I decided to ink up and watercolor some images from Mama Elephants Playful Pup set. I used masculine colors of green, blue and yellow. Even though sequins aren't that masculine, I threw them on there anyway because it needed a little something.
Thank you so much for stopping by and all of the comments I've been receiving lately. You guys rock!
I'm popping in with a card that's colorful and full of patterns. I used Avery Elle's Love Notes stamp set for the image and sentiment. Do you notice anything odd about the card? How about the missing "s" in Thanks. I had a blond moment I think. LOL!
I'm entering this card into the latest Simon Says Wednesday Challenge where the theme is "Anything Goes".
I'm popping in today with a fun little card using Avery Elle's Love Notes stamp set and my Hero Arts ombre ink pads. I added a little bit of patterned paper and a few AE sequins to finish it off. This weekend I chose this one stamp set to focus on and made three cards using it, which I'll share throughout the week.
I'm entering this card into the latest Simon Wednesday Challenge with the theme of Anything Goes. I'm also entering it into Virginia's View Challenge #15 with the theme of Ombre.
Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.
Thank you for stopping by today. I have a bright and cheery card to make you smile. I inked up a raccoon from one of the cutest Lawn fawn sets called "Into the Woods". This set is full of cute critters. I tried something new this time, using watercolor pencils. I've had them forever it seems and never really tested them out. I've been missing out for sure because I LOVE them. I feel more in control as to where my color goes than with a paintbrush.
I'm entering this card into the latest Lawnscaping Challenge where the theme is to try a new technique.
I'm popping in to share a card I made for a couple of challenges using one of my favorite Neat and Tangled stamp sets "Origami Map". There are so many wonderful uses for this set. You can use it as a background or section off a piece to showcase. I obviously focused on the area in which I live, NY. I colored it in with some watercolor pencils. Not much to the card really as the background is just patterned paper.
The two challenges I am entering this into are the Neat and Tangled Clean and Simple Challenge and the Curtain Call Totally Tassel Challenge.
I'm popping in today to share a card I made for the Mix It Up Challenge over at the Ellen Hutson blog. The theme of the challenge is to combine an Ellen Hutson set and an Avery Elle set.
On my holiday card (Christmas came early in my studio), I used the greenery image from EH Christmas Scribbles set and the sentiment, pine cone and berries from AE Winter Wreath set. I kept things pretty clean and simple, also one layered.
I'm popping in with a card I made for the latest Fusion French Twist Challenge. I was so inspired by the colors of the photo and also the French theme. Don't macaroons scream French? Maybe? Well for me it does. LOL!
I used my watercolors for the background and the macaroons. Did I mention how addicted I am to watercolors? No? Well I am....Just can't get enough.
I'm popping in today with a fun little card I made for the latest Avery Elle Challenge #24. The theme this challenge is Spring. I looooove Spring. It reminds me of a new start, fresh flowers, sunshine and being able to be outdoors!
I created this card using the watercolor technique. I was able to use some of my new Hero Arts ombre ink pads I bought from one of my favorite crafty stores Butterfly Reflections Ink. The ink pads are so juicy and leave a smooth inked finish. I'm in love! Can't wait to buy more colors!!!
How are you enjoying the weekend? Doing anything fun? Traveling? Well that's the theme over at the latest Curtain Call Challenge. That triggered me to bring out my new airplane image from Avery Elle. Love this set! How cute is it that the airplane can create cloud sentiments? Have you ever seen this in real life? I had once in Disney World. It's a neat sight. I often wonder if the pilots get dizzy during the curvy letters. LOL!
I'm also entering this into the latest CASology Challenge #144. The theme is Flight.
Thank you so much for stopping in and for the sweet comments that many of you have left.
I'm popping in today to share a card. I bought this pretty paper with gold accents a couple of weeks ago and couldn't wait to use it. I'm not much for gold but I find that I'm liking it more and more everyday. I 'm even starting to wear some gold jewelry in lieu of my typical silver. Watch out now! LOL! I'm entering this card into the latest Card Concept Challenge #34. The style I used is clean and layered. I'm also entering this card into the latest Mama Elephant May Challenge where the theme is "Oooh So Pretty".
I'm popping in today with a card I made for the latest Retro Sketches Challenge #162. I just love this sketch... so many possibilities!
Well it's Friday so do you guys have any plans for the weekend? It is supposed to be beautiful weather here so I think a friend and I are going to take our little ones for a stroll on main street to look at some shops and hit up the farmer's market. Got to love beautiful sunny weekends!
I'm on a roll this week with posting because this past weekend I was able to craft my heart out due to the rain and cold. I made this card for a couple of challenges (Retro Sketches Challenge #162 and the Simon Says Anything Goes Challenge). This sketch really kick started my mojo and I actually made a couple of cards with it that I'll share later. The cute oven image is from Avery Elle and the awesome black and white patterned paper is from April's Papertrey Ink release. I just looove it!
I'm an Arkansas "Southern Belle" born and raised. I moved to the great state of New York for my family, career and new experiences. I'm an avid cardmaker who developed this blog as an outlet to share my creations. I hope you enjoy!
