Woodland Friends

Hello,

It's Friday! Can I get an Amen?!?! I only had a three day work week as I've been on vacation earlier this week at the beaches of Long Island. We went with another couple that has a child our sons age so we had a great time. My son (who is 14 months) loves the beach and eating sand. Ahhh! I had to watch him every second. When I would tell him "no" or "don't do that", he would just laugh and grab a handful of sand to eat. Oh my!

I'm sharing a card I made for the latest Mama Elephant Flickr August challenge. The theme this month is watercolors. I'm also entering this into the Simon Wednesday challenge where the theme is Anything Goes.

The images and sentiment on my card are from the Woodland Friends Mama Elephant set.

Thank you so much for stopping by,

Hello

Hello,

I'm popping in with a card similar to yesterdays but with a different color combination. These flowers are so easy to ink up and layer.

Thank you so much for the sweet comments yesterday.

Painted Flowers

Hello,

I'm popping in with a fun card using some images from a (new to me) stamp company called Altenew. I used two of their sets (Halftone Hello and Painted Flowers). I am in love!!! The layering that can be achieved with the flowers is amazing!

What do you think? Have you tried their products yet?

Bright Peonies

Hello,

Hope you're having a great start to the week. My little man has an ear infection (boo), so while he's sleeping I was able to create a fun little card. I love all of the bright colors against the black and grey background. I used the Avery Elle Peonies stamp set and the die cut sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. It was my first time using the sentiment. I love it but had to think real hard about how to attach it. Because the lettering is so thin, I took a pop up square and cut it into tiny pieces to fit behind it. Do any of you have a better way of popping images off of the card base when they're so thin?

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Pretty Peonies

Hello...

I'm popping in with a card I finished last night. I try to sneak a few minutes here and there to stay crafty. It's still a little hard with an 1 year old. Can I get an AMEN? :)

For this card I used the Peonies stamp set from Avery Elle and colored the beautiful flowers with my ZIG Clean Color Markers. I popped up a few of the flowers and sentiment with some pop-up adhesive to add a little dimension.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Stamp With ME

Hello to you...

I'm popping in today with a card I created for the latest Flickr Challenge by Mama Elephant. The theme this month is watercolors. No surprise there as that seems to be all the craze lately, at least with me. I just need to watercolor everything! Especially with the ZIG Clean Color Markers!

What products do you like to use when watercoloring?

Thank you so much for the wonderful comments and for stopping by,
Brandi

Berry Good

Hello crafters...

Hope you're having a great weekend. The family and I are heading out to a BBQ but I wanted to pop in quickly to share a card I made using the Berry Good stamp set from Avery Elle and my Zig Clean Color Markers. I just loved coloring and placing the various fruit on the watercolor paper. I added a little black and white patterned paper to the edges to make the image pop. Isn't this a fun sentiment too?

What are your plans this weekend?

Thanks for stopping by,
Brandi

Party Animal

Hello fellow crafters...

I'm popping in with a little card I made just for fun. I've been doing that more lately in lieu of creating for challenges. Sometimes it's nice to choose a stamp, colors and layout all your own. I do find that when I hit a crafter's block a nice sketch challenge will get me going again.

I used the new Wplus9 Party Animal set and colored everything with my ZIG watercolor markers. I've been on a yellow and turquoise kick lately. I love how the cool colors flow together. I added a little line around the giraffe's waist to seem like he's floating.

CASEing Genius with Kelly Latevola

Hello friends...

I have some exciting news! Kelly Latevola invited me to take part in her series CASEing Genius. You can find the link here. She showcases a fellow crafter on her blog every Monday. It's the perfect series in which to learn and be inspired by other crafters within this fun cardmaking community.

Kelly, herself, is super sweet and talented and has coloring skills to die for. I would love if you hoped over to her blog and checked it out. Thank you so much Kelly for thinking of me!

I made a card to share too. I colored the beautiful images (fox, wreath and banner) from the new Mama Elephant Charmed set. I created the background with ZIG color clean brushes and watercolor pens.

Thank you so much for stopping by,
Brandi

Tiny Hero

Hello to you...

I know it's been a while since I've last posted but the hubby and I were on vacation. Or should I say staycation. We enjoyed a week long, relaxing time full of massages, swimming, visiting various diners and even a concert was thrown into the mix. A group of girls in my family went to see Taylor Swift in New Jersey. She was a really good performer but I tell you, I've never seen so many screaming teenagers in one place. It was too cute.

I'm popping in with a card I made using a couple of stamp sets. The sentiment and superhero girl is from Mama Elephant's Tiny Heros set and the city landscape is from Avery Elle's Super set.

Thank you so much for stopping by,
Brandi

The Best Is Yet To Come

I'm popping in with a fun card I created using the Up and Away stamp set from Mama Elephant. I stuck to the red, white and black layout because I felt the red just popped when there weren't other colors added. What do you think?

Thank you for stopping by and for all the amazing comments many of you have been leaving on my blog lately. Happy 4th of July weekend, to those that celebrate!

Chance of Rain

Hello...

So the last few post have been about the rain we've been having in upstate NY, so I thought what better set to play with than Mama Elephants Chance of Rain set. Each and every image in the set is just too cute. I watercolored the background first and on a separate sheet of watercolor paper colored the bear, umbrella and boy. After cutting out the little guys, I popped them on the card with some pop up squares. I thought it needed a little something extra so I added a strip of patterned paper off to the side.

Thank you so much for stopping by,
Brandi

P.S. if any of you are on instagram please leave me your name in the comments. I would love to follow you and see your creations to be inspired! My instagram account is yankeebellestamper.

Potted Pretties

Hello...

How was your weekend? We had lots of much needed rain so I crafted and read a lot. The book I'm reading at the moment is "The Girl On The Train" and it's so good. Have you read it?

I'm popping in with a card I made for the latest Mama Elephant June Flickr Challenge. The theme this month is clean and simple with lots of white space. I used an image from the Potted Pretties set and colored it with my Zig markers. The sentiment is from the Sunday Sentiments set. This set is so versatile. Love!!!

Muse: Christmas Visions #8

Hello crafters...

Hope you're enjoying the weekend. It's been raining today so I spent some time in the studio creating a few cards. I came across a new challenge site called Muse: Christmas Visions so I had to try my hand at the latest challenge #8.

I was inspired by the diagonal background. I chose to use cool colors in lieu of the warm ones shown. I also wanted to showcase the sentiment as the focal point similar to the Muse card provided.

I'm off to comment on some of the other cards and check out the talent!

Thank you for stopping by,

Ombre Balloons

Hello Stampers...

Hope you've had a great week. We're halfway to the weekend. I've got lots to do as I'm preparing for my sons first birthday party next weekend. We're doing a pool party theme with beach balls and streamers. I'll be sure to share some pics later on.

I'm popping in with a card I made for the latest Simon Says Wednesday Challenge. The theme this week is Anything Goes. I'm also super excited because one of my crafty rockstar friends Gayatri made the DT!!! Whoo hoo! You go girl! She was picked out of over 400 applicants. Her work is awesome and now I get to see even more of it.

Rainbow Challenge

Hello Crafters...

I'm popping in with a card I made for the latest AE I Heart U Challenge. The theme this month is Rainbows. When I think of rainbows, I think of sunny skies fresh from a rain shower, bright colors and happiness. I tried to incorporate the bright colors and happiness into this card by using my Zig color brush pens and AE Peonies stamp set.

The big flowers are great for coloring or paper piecing. Maybe I'll try the paper piecing technique next.

Off to see the other entries! Thanks for stopping by,
Brandi

Virginia's View Challenge #15

Hello crafters...

I'm popping in with a card I made for the latest Virginia's View Challenge #15. The theme this month is Ombre / Monochromatic. I used plenty of this technique on my card from coloring the pineapple image to the sentiment. It's so fun to do. I used my new Zig watercolor markers to create both effects.

The pineapple image and sentiment are from one of my new favorite sets by Avery Elle called "Stay Fresh". I just love this fun set for the summer!

I Love ZIG So Much!!!

Hello crafters...

Did you see my title? I love ZIG, I really do!!! The other day I bought some of the cool ZIG Clean Color Brush Pens that seem to be everywhere. I wanted to try my hand at the new techniques and gorgeous watercoloring everyone seems to be doing. Last night I dove in and created this card. Coloring with these pens is so easy and I was able to create so many wonderful colors from just a few pens. I bought only 12, but I'll be stocking my studio with more soon!

I inked up these beautiful flowers from a new set called Doodle Buds from Wplus9. The latest release was amazing!!!

Have you tried the ZIG pens yet? What are your thoughts?

Ombre Earth

Hello...

It's raining buckets here in Upstate NY. I love it though because my flowers are getting the water they need to grow big and beautiful. I don't have much of a green thumb but I'm working on it. I planted a few geraniums in red and white and they are blooming like crazy.

I'm popping in with a card I made using Avery Elle's Love Note stamp set and some of my Hero Arts Ombre Ink Pads. I kept the card pretty simple as I wanted to focus on the image and sentiment.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

It's my 500th post!!!

Hello friends...

I'm popping in with my 500th post. It seems unreal to me that I've been blogging that long. I've had a little hiatus here and there due to lack of inspiration or the birth of our child but I kept this little blog going for a few years now and see no signs of stopping. I've made so many friends over the years through this hobby and have found so much inspiration in our fun community on the web. Here's to another 500!

So today I'm sharing a card I made for the latest Simon Says Wednesday Challenge. The theme this week is "Masculine". I decided to ink up and watercolor some images from Mama Elephants Playful Pup set. I used masculine colors of green, blue and yellow. Even though sequins aren't that masculine, I threw them on there anyway because it needed a little something.

Thank you so much for stopping by and all of the comments I've been receiving lately. You guys rock!

Hugs,
Brandi

Beautiful

Hello crafters...

I'm popping in with a card that's colorful and full of patterns. I used Avery Elle's Love Notes stamp set for the image and sentiment. Do you notice anything odd about the card? How about the missing "s" in Thanks. I had a blond moment I think. LOL!

I'm entering this card into the latest Simon Says Wednesday Challenge where the theme is "Anything Goes".

Thanks for stopping by,
Brandi

Ombre Love

Hello crafty friends...

I'm popping in today with a fun little card using Avery Elle's Love Notes stamp set and my Hero Arts ombre ink pads. I added a little bit of patterned paper and a few AE sequins to finish it off. This weekend I chose this one stamp set to focus on and made three cards using it, which I'll share throughout the week.

I'm entering this card into the latest Simon Wednesday Challenge with the theme of Anything Goes. I'm also entering it into Virginia's View Challenge #15 with the theme of Ombre.

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.

Smile

Hello crafty friends,

Thank you for stopping by today. I have a bright and cheery card to make you smile. I inked up a raccoon from one of the cutest Lawn fawn sets called "Into the Woods". This set is full of cute critters. I tried something new this time, using watercolor pencils. I've had them forever it seems and never really tested them out. I've been missing out for sure because I LOVE them. I feel more in control as to where my color goes than with a paintbrush.

I'm entering this card into the latest Lawnscaping Challenge where the theme is to try a new technique.

Thank you so much for stopping by,
Brandi

Hooray

Hello crafty friends,

Happy Memorial Day! I'm popping in quickly to share a card I made for the latest CASology Challenge #147 and the Colour Q Challenge #292. I just love the color and the theme this week!

I kept my card pretty clean and simple and added a little color with my ombre Hero Arts ink and a few sequins.

Sorry to keep this post short but I need to get back to the family.
