That Special Ornament

Hey y'all,

I have another holiday card to share with you that I made over the weekend. I created the various ornaments with a paper punch I bought from Stampin' Up. It is a great tool to have because it doubles as a tool for making cute tags for Christmas gifts.

While posting this card about ornaments, I was wondering if you have that special one that you put on your tree from year to year. You know, the most memorable one. It could be store bought, home made or even received as a gift. The most important one that I can think of is a glass ball with a minnie (bride) and a mickey (groom) on top. We bought it in Disney World back in 2005 on our honeymoon. Every year I unwrap it carefully and place it on the front of the tree. It always reminds me of a perfect moment in time. I would love to hear your story!

Thanks for stopping by,
Brandi

Thanks for the tip on this punch. Great card, great mix of patterned paper!

Those special ornaments always go in front, don't they? We have a mixed ornament tree, not a matchy matchy one. Of course the handmade kids ones are always special but then I have the mold of my childhood dog's paw that's pretty special, I top my tree with my grandmother's vintage angel and then the most special has to be the string of glass bells for my brother who died-because every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings...

These are from a punch? Fabulous! Love those patterned papers. :)

What a sweet story! My favourite ornament has a mouse on it too! My mom used to do ceramics, and made me this adorable ornament with a mouse curled up on the crescent moon with a patchwork quilt. Its pretty amazing, it also matches the stocking she made for me. Its been the last ornament on the tree since I was about 6!

Those punches rock and I'd never have thought to use them as tags but they're perfect!

We have these felt Mr. & Mrs. Claus ornaments that my grandmother made and they always have pride of place next to each other at the front of the tree. :)

This is beautiful, Brandi! Punches make holiday cards quick and easy. I haven't used this one to its fullest. I've collected and made special ornaments every year so I have a tree full of mismatched ones but that's what makes it beautiful. :)
